AIH  FAQ

  1. What are your store hours and holiday hours?
    Store hours differ by location, and holiday hours may vary. Please visit our Locations page to check the specific hours of your nearest store.
  2. How do I find the branch closest to me?
     The website automatically detects  your current location. If you wish to fulfill your order from a different location, you may update it by selecting the location option in the upper-left corner of your browser, adjacent to the AIH logo.
  3. What are your shipping options, costs, and delivery times?
     We ship throughout Alaska. Shipping costs and exclusions vary based on weight, size, and destination. For rural or barge deliveries, additional lead time may apply. Please see our Fulfillment Rules and Restrictions page for more information.
  4. How is freight calculated for online orders?
    USPS shipping is calculated using a rate table updated with current USPS zone rates. UPS shipping is calculated in real time through UPS’s online system.
  5. Do you ship outside of Alaska?
     We do not currently offer out-of-state shipping directly through the website due to high freight costs. However, if you’d like to discuss an out-of-state order, please call our Sales Team at 907-276-7201 during normal business hours.
  6. Can I place a C.O.D. order online?
     No. C.O.D. orders cannot be placed through the website.
  7. Can I pick up my order in-store?
     Yes! We offer in-store pickup at all AIH locations, including Anchorage, Fairbanks, Wasilla, Kenai, Juneau, and Eagle River. You’ll be notified when your order is ready.
  8. How are stores notified of online pickup orders?
     When a pickup order is placed, the invoice prints at the store counter and a copy of the order is also emailed directly to the store.
  9. When will my pickup order be ready?
     Pickup orders typically have a 2-hour lead time. If an order is placed within 2 hours of closing, it will be ready 2 hours after the store opens the following business day.
  10. How will I receive my order confirmation?
     An order acknowledgment is automatically emailed once your order is successfully placed.
  11. What payment methods do you accept?
     We accept major credit cards, AIH charge accounts, and approved corporate purchase orders.
  12. Do you offer local delivery?
     Yes. All AIH locations provide local delivery services with a minimum order of $100. Deliveries are available Monday–Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
  13. How do I schedule a delivery?
     Deliveries can be scheduled at the time of purchase—whether in-store, online, or by calling your nearest AIH location. Most deliveries are arranged promptly, based on product availability and delivery volume.
  14. What is your return and exchange policy?
     Most items can be returned within 30 days with proof of purchase. Some exclusions apply (special orders, cut products, clearance items, repair items, and gift cards). Please visit your local AIH store or contact customer service for assistance.
  15. What are your delivery hours?
     Deliveries are available Monday–Friday, between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
  16. What are Blue Tag items, and how do they work?
     Blue Tag Specials are limited-time discounts on select items. Selection changes often and may vary by store. See our Blue Tag Specials Overview page or Sales Associate for current offers.
  17. Do you have a loyalty/rewards program?
     Yes! AIH offers a Rewards Program that enables customers to earn points on purchases and redeem them for future savings. Please note that AIH Rewards Accounts are available to customers who do not have an existing commercial account. For complete details, visit our AIH Rewards Program page.
  18. Can I use my AIH Rewards Points online?
     Yes! Customers can view available Rewards Points in their online account. Points are earned on all online purchases and can also be applied toward future online orders.
  19. What items are available on the website?
     All stocking items, as well as some “Order As Needed” (OAN) items, are available online. Items are automatically enabled for the website when they are stocking or OAN with at least one unit available company-wide.
  20. Do your products carry warranties?
     Yes. Most of our vendors back their tools with manufacturer warranties. Bring your proof of purchase to any AIH store and we’ll help process the warranty if applicable. Please note: some manufacturers do not allow over-the-counter exchanges, and you must contact them directly for warranty claims.
  21. How do I contact AIH?
     You can reach us by phone, email, Live Chat, or in person at any AIH location. Store hours and contact details are listed on our [Store Locator Page].
  22. When is Live Chat available?
     Live Chat is available between 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. AKST. Click the chat bubble in the lower right corner of the screen to connect with a support representative. If you contact us outside of these hours, you may complete a form and we’ll respond as soon as possible. 
  23. How do I get product manuals, MSDS/SDS sheets, or OSHA compliance documents?
     Safety Data Sheets (SDS) are available for most products upon request, in-store, through our Customer Service team (907-276-7201), or directly from the manufacturer.
